[vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text]According to Andrew Heltzel, Livewire’s ski business unit manager, “Our initial season was a great success from a variety of perspectives. The many thousands of tickets we sold proved that skiers would embrace more convenient ways of getting their tickets, and our 99.997% uptime proved to the resorts that our network is industrial quality and was built to last.“
Heltzel continued “Our network of off-mountain ticket kiosks has been embraced by every resort we have approached since our successful Colorado pilot program last winter. In addition to renewals by all pilot participants, we are delighted to add Copper Mountain, Monarch, Sol Vista, and Telluride to our Colorado network. Now skiers can visit local ski shops and purchase discounted lift tickets for nearly all destinations in the Front Range area. For this coming season we have nearly doubled the number of retail outlets in our Colorado system. Because the resorts will be taking advantage of Livewire’s instant price changes, skier surveys, and affinity marketing capabilities, it’s obvious to retailers that the days of consigned paper tickets are numbered.”
Livewire’s kiosks are placed in high-traffic retail stores such as REI, Christy Sports and Breeze/Max. This new method of lift ticket distribution will become more widely available for the 2002-03 ski season because Livewire is expanding its reach into Lake Tahoe, Salt Lake City, and New England.
